What You Will Be Doing Facilitating small-group phonics workshops for gifted K–2 learners, with each lesson designed from student data rather than scripted curriculum Administering running records, evaluating reading levels, and organizing your own differentiated instructional groups Delivering 1:1 and small-group motivational coaching using school currency, leaderboards, and personal rapport to propel stretch goals in adaptive applications Monitoring real-time student performance in adaptive learning software and adjusting instruction as the data shifts What You Won’t Be Doing Delivering lectures to a full classroom. Students engage through self-guided applications, not passive instruction Overseeing 25+ students. You work with small cohorts of gifted children Adhering to a district pacing guide or preparing for standardized assessments Teaching subjects outside reading and writing (no math, science, or social studies) Drafting IEPs, attending committee meetings, or navigating school district administrative processes Literacy Coach Key Responsibilities Drive gifted K–2 students to achieve years of reading advancement in a compressed timeframe through adaptive technology and focused phonics instruction. Basic Requirements Master's degree in reading instruction OR reading certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, CERI, LETRS, or equivalent). Science of Reading coursework by itself does not satisfy this requirement. Bachelor's degree in any discipline 2+ years providing small-group early literacy instruction to K–2 learners Demonstrated ability to assess reading levels, create instructional groups, and design differentiated instruction independent of pre-written curriculum Direct experience working with gifted or high-performing students (gifted & talented program, academic summer camp, or specialized school setting) Comfortable with AI/adaptive learning tools and capable of analyzing student performance data Available to work on-site at the GT campus in Georgetown (Austin), TX.
