Lead Cardiac Sonographer Advara HeartCare | Adelaide SA Join Advara HeartCare in Adelaide as our Lead Cardiac Sonographer and play a key role in delivering high quality adult echocardiography while leading a capable and collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cardiac sonographer who wants to combine hands-on clinical work with team leadership, quality improvement, and service development in a specialist cardiology environment. About the role This Adelaide-based position is available at 0.8 to 1.0 FTE and is focused on adult echocardiography. The role offers a clinical component alongside a strong leadership requirement to continue building the service. You will lead day-to-day workflow along with administrative duties of your role across timesheets, leave, booking templates and mentoring team members, to help shape service quality and consistency across the local, satellite and regional service. Key responsibilities Perform high-quality adult transthoracic echocardiography in an outpatient cardiology setting. Support the delivery of a safe, efficient, and patient-focused echo service. Lead and coordinate the daily workflow of the cardiac sonography team. Manage timesheet, rostering, clinical schedules, Core services, regional services, and satellite. Provide mentoring, supervision, and support to sonographers and technical staff. Assist with onboarding, training, and capability development within the team. Work closely with cardiologists and clinic staff to support smooth patient flow and timely reporting. Contribute to protocol development, quality improvement, and service standardisation. Support continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of best-practice processes. About you Qualified Cardiac Sonographer with relevant accredited sonography qualifications. ASAR registration, or eligibility for registration, as a cardiac sonographer. Strong adult echocardiography experience in a cardiology, private practice, or hospital setting. Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of clinical quality. Previous experience in a senior, supervisory, or informal leadership capacity is highly regarded. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative leadership style. Commitment to patient-centred care, clinical excellence, and team development.
