Not from indifference — from conviction that they can reach it, and that lowering standards is the true disservice. If this resonates, continue reading. If it feels unnecessarily strict, this position will not align with your approach. Alpha students don't passively absorb lectures. They advance through adaptive applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms while developing practical life competencies. Your responsibility is ensuring three commitments reach every student in your cohort: genuine enthusiasm for school, learning velocity 2x the norm, and acquisition of skills traditional curricula ignore. You simultaneously coach the Guides who uphold these commitments campus-wide. Data informs every choice, and interaction is consistently direct. Your time divides between your personal student cohort and Guide coaching — with identical expectations for both: quantifiable advancement, without exception. When a Guide's session underperforms, documentation isn't the answer; you observe, analyze, and correct it before day's end. You'll observe reserved students presenting with confidence to adult audiences. You'll encounter a student who once "despised school" requesting extra time. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained delivered that outcome, because maintaining rigor demonstrates your belief in their capability. You may launch an entirely new campus from inception, establishing the foundational culture. As operations mature, your emphasis transitions from hands-on operator to coaching leadership, cultivating the team that expands Alpha's approach throughout your region. If this opportunity appeals to you, submit your application. What You Will Be Doing Facilitating one-hour live workshops in life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) for K-8 students, covering subjects such as public speaking and concentration, adhering to Alpha's established playbook Conducting daily motivational sessions that propel 100% of students toward weekly application-based goals through age-appropriate mechanisms including school currency and competitive leaderboards Developing Guides via observation, precise feedback, and direct skill-building to ensure they execute workshops with equivalent energy and exactness Analyzing Coachbot data and individual student profiles to pinpoint intervention needs, then delivering personal intervention Directly mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you require from all Guides What You Won’t Be Doing Creating lesson plans or building curriculum. Students progress through adaptive applications; your focus is elevating the people who support them. Delivering traditional classroom lectures. This role is 80% engagement specialist, 20% content expert; those seeking whiteboard instruction should look elsewhere. Compromising standards due to external pressure from parents or administration. A 99% score receives "not yet" — and you'll have institutional support to maintain that boundary. Spending hours in an office processing administrative documents. The majority of your workday involves direct engagement with students and Guides. Delaying performance discussions for weeks. Outcomes are visible in real-time via Coachbot, and adjustments occur immediately. Lead Instructional Coach Key Responsibilities Execute Alpha's 3 Promises throughout your cohort and among the Guides under your leadership: every student develops genuine love for school, achieves learning at 2x velocity, and cultivates authentic life skills. Basic Requirements Currently located in or prepared to relocate to Beverly Hills, CA; La Jolla (San Diego), CA; Piedmont, CA; South Bay (LA), CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA (relocation assistance available) Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline (Master's preferred; traditional teaching certifications are not required) Minimum 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or comparable field Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training systems Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including responsibility for hiring and performance-driven termination decisions Background in coaching, mentoring, or delivering constructive feedback to enhance engagement and outcomes Direct experience working with children ages 5–14 in educational or developmental contexts Skilled in leveraging data and metrics to inform decision-making and foster continuous improvement Legal authorization to work in the United States Nice-to-have Requirements Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or Business Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program coordinator where you directly motivated children toward quantifiable objectives History coaching adults in environments where performance was systematically measured and evaluated Confidence performing before large groups of children.
