Investment Business Systems Engineer Location: Hybrid – Madison, WI Position Type: Direct Hire Overview TalentFish is casting a line for an Investment Business Systems Engineer to join a premier investment management organization. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting and advancing the technology platforms that power sophisticated public and private market investment strategies. Working closely with Investment Operations, Portfolio Management, and Technology teams, you will help design, implement, and optimize critical investment management systems while serving as a trusted technology partner to the business. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of investment management operations and technology. Location Flexibility Candidates located within 50 miles of Madison, WI: Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office. Candidates located in the Chicago area: Remote work arrangement with 1 day per week onsite in Madison. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates interested in moving to the Madison area. What You'll Do Serve as the technical lead and systems architect for investment management applications supporting front- and middle-office functions. Partner with business stakeholders, operations teams, and technology leaders to evaluate, design, and implement technology solutions. Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, sustainable system designs. Support and enhance investment platforms used across public and private market portfolios. Lead software implementation efforts, upgrades, integrations, and ongoing system improvements. Develop testing strategies, test plans, and validation processes for new technology deployments. Identify architectural risks, system gaps, and process improvement opportunities. Troubleshoot complex production issues and serve as a subject matter expert for investment technology applications. Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to maximize the value of technology investments. Research emerging investment technologies and industry trends to help shape future technology strategy. Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and system specifications. What You Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience supporting business systems within the investment management industry. Strong understanding of investment management operations, workflows, and technology platforms. Experience supporting public and/or private market investment processes. Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across business and technology teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ABOR and/or IBOR platforms, including: SimCorp Dimension Eagle STAR/PACE Similar investment accounting or portfolio management platforms Hands-on SimCorp Dimension experience is highly desirable. Experience working within Agile delivery environments. Knowledge of investment securities, asset classes, and portfolio management workflows.
