Be part of the change Here’s your chance to be part of a dynamic, collaborative and fun Corporate Performance and Partnerships team. A team who is motivated to lead the delivery of robust frameworks, integrated systems, policies, processes and key performance measures for achieving operational excellence and the delivery of strategic priorities across the key disciplines, Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW), Risk Management, Procurement, Project Management, Asset Management, Business Solutions and Corporate Planning and Reporting. The team integrates these key disciplines to provide a unified approach to driving operational efficiency, strategic alignment, and organisational resilience. A key focus of the team is driving continues improvement, monitoring of key performance measures, and increasing the organisation maturity across these disciplines. The team operates as a centre of excellence and is a strategic business partner, providing expert consultancy type services that support our stakeholders to build capability and enable the delivery of strategic initiatives, leading transformational change in systems, processes, culture and behaviour. The opportunity This role leads the codesign of HSW strategies to ensure we have the programmes, policies, governance and leadership in place to continue to mature HSW at Council. This role works closely with executive and senior leaders to set direction and champion HSW initiatives, systems, and processes across Council to achieve our vision, “together we get our people home safe and well everyday”. This role provides an opportunity to lead transformational change where you will need to be a confident role model in HSW strategies, systems, processes, behaviour and culture change. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to build strong collaborative partnerships, influence senior leaders and proactively lead the design and delivery of HSW initiatives that empower our people leaders to lead positive Health, Safety and Wellbeing outcomes for their people. To set you up for success, you’ll have Extensive Health, Safety & Wellbeing experience at a senior leadership level delivering HSW programmes and initiatives in a government or multi-disciplinary organisation. Experience and proven track record of developing and delivering HSW strategies and supporting programmes of work including learning. Experience assessing complex HSW issues, considering options, risk, benefits and mitigation strategies to facilitate informed decision making. Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety, or a related field at NZQA Level 6 or higher. Experience working with geographically dispersed teams. Strong relating and networking abilities, building long term relationships and engagement. The ability to positively influence behaviour change and decision making through building and maintaining good relationships across a large stakeholder group.
