About this role

Head of Trading

Lead Lind Capital’s trading team and drive alpha through disciplined, model-based strategy.

Who we are

We bring together talented people from diverse backgrounds in an informal work environment focused on creating results together. We empower our people and avoid bureaucracy. This focus on talent and teamwork enables us to successfully compete with the top hedge funds of this world.

Our team of ~30 employees is based in Aarhus, Denmark.

The role

Trading and alpha generation are at the core of what Lind Capital does. As Head of Trading, you will lead a team of approximately ten traders, quants, and analysts, and you will be a member of the company’s leadership team, jointly responsible for strategy delivery and overall company performance.

You will be responsible for the performance of the trading team across topline generation, incremental strategy improvements, execution quality, and team development. Together with the leadership team, you will drive a continued journey towards more quantitative and model-based trading decisions, as well as growth into adjacent trading strategies.

This is not a purely managerial role. You will be close to the work, while also setting direction and standards for the team. You will assume a business ownership role in cross-functional squads with technology and data, ensuring strong delivery of quantitative and analytical capabilities that directly support trading.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop — taking ownership of individual and collective performance and actively recognizing and rewarding contributions.
  • Drive topline performance and incremental improvements across trading strategies, with a clear plan for where and how the team creates value.
  • Assume a business ownership role in cross-functional squads with technology and data, ensuring high business value from squad work.
  • Champion a culture of quantitative rigor and model-based decision-making, while staying close to day-to-day trading.
  • Set direction for growth into adjacent strategies, balancing opportunistic moves with longer-term strategic priorities.
  • Contribute actively to the leadership team — being a demanding and direct leader who surfaces conflicts early, learns from mistakes, and commits fully once a direction is set.
  • You balance confidently between operational involvement and strategic direction — ensuring alignment between day-to-day decisions and long-term goals.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with brokers, prime brokers, and other trading counterparties.

What we offer

  • A Head of Trading role at the core of the business — with real ownership and direct impact on performance.
  • The opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with exceptional specialists.
  • A culture grounded in quantitative thinking, curiosity, and experimentation.
  • Continued personal development through close collaboration with the CEO and the leadership team.
  • An inclusive, caring, and psychologically safe workplace where diverse perspectives, ideas, and approaches are relished.
  • Continued investments in data engineering to minimize manual hacks and maximize AI benefits.

What we are looking for

  • Several years of leadership experience and a strong motivation to build and lead a high-performing trading team.
  • A strong track record in trading, portfolio management, or a related quantitative investment role — ideally in equities, closed-end funds, relative value, or statistical arbitrage.
  • Solid understanding of quantitative trading, strategy development, NAV dynamics, and the mechanics of running a disciplined, risk-aware trading operation.
  • Strategic capacity and intellectual curiosity to lead a multi-strategy proprietary trading growth journey — balancing opportunistic and long-term thinking.
  • Ability to act as a constructive challenger and sparring partner to the CEO and the rest of the leadership team on strategy, risk, and performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with quantitative tools, data, and AI-enabled workflows — with a genuine appetite for model-driven thinking.
  • A collaborative, curious and open-minded person who thrives in a high-performance, low-bureaucracy environment.

We value potential over a perfect match, and we do not expect you to fit all criteria 100%. However, this role does require strong trading leadership, commercial judgment, and a genuine ability to drive performance and challenge assumptions. You will be supported in growing along the way, but you should be motivated by working in a high-performance, quantitatively driven environment where results matter.

Location

Success in this role depends on close collaboration, which works best for us when we are physically together. You should therefore expect to work from our Aarhus office 4–5 days per week.

Our corporate languageis English, and we welcome applications from non-Danish speakers.

Benefits

  • Professional development and clear career growth opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation, equity ownership, and warrants.
  • Modern office environment with a healthy canteen and snacks.
  • Good maternity/paternity terms.
  • Visa support (if needed).
