About this role
Outline of the Job As a Head of Flight Control Systems & Avionics, you will be responsible for managing the team, driving system-level design processes, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards. A Senior Manager typically manages a group that includes 4 teams led by team leaders. Ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the System Group. Lead and mentor systems engineering teams responsible for the development and integration of avionics, flight control systems, flight control laws, and other critical aircraft subsystems. Define and drive the system engineering processes, including requirements management, architecture design, validation, verification, and certification support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (aerodynamics, structures, certification, etc.) to ensure seamless integration across all aircraft systems. Oversee the development of system models, simulations, and digital twins to optimize aircraft performance and reliability. Ensure compliance with relevant aviation regulations (JCAB, FAA, EASA etc.) and industry standards (ARP4754, DO-178, DO-254, etc.). Drive risk assessments, failure mode analysis (FMEA), and hazard mitigation strategies. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet program milestones. Mentor and develop the systems engineering team, fostering innovation and technical excellence. Essential Skills 10+ years of experience in systems engineering in aerospace, preferably in eVTOL Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams. Strong understanding of aircraft systems architecture, integration, and certification processes. Proficiency in system modeling tools (e.g., SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS). Familiarity with eVTOL technology, and autonomous systems Desirable Skills Experience in eVTOL or UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) development. Advanced knowledge of system safety standards and practices. Strong communication skills, with experience interfacing with international suppliers and stakeholders.
