About fonio We’re fonio.ai. A Vienna-based startup building AI phone assistants that sound like a real person and can handle calls end-to-end. In the DACH region, 6,000+ small and medium enterprises already use and trust fonio every day. In just 1,5 years, we have grown to become the market leader. Direct communication. We're proving you can build world-class companies from Europe. Your role You will own everything operational finance at fonio. As part of the operations team, you will build up an operational finance function that acts as an asset rather than a liability. The processes and structures you build along the way will support fonio's rapid internationalization and growth. We are not looking for someone that does repetitive work, but rather for a person who takes ownership, improves and automates processes and builds the financial foundation for the future successes of fonio. Systems & Automation Roll out and own a lean ERP system, from selection to implementation Build a clean invoice approval and control process (for incoming invoices) Automate internal and external monthly reporting – together with the Strategic Finance Lead Translate everything in finance that's manual today into workflows and agents Planning & Reporting Operational financial planning with the Strategic Finance Lead and Chief of Staff Keep weekly cash-flow projections live and accurate Consolidation across entities KPI preparation and internal reporting Accounting & Tax Monthly accounting prep together with our tax advisors Coordinate tax topics (VAT, corporate tax, payroll, international) Corporate credit cards: setup, limits, reconciliation Employee reimbursements and expense management Inter-company transfers and FX handling What you bring At least 2 years of operational finance experience at a startup or scale-up – you've actually touched invoices, expenses, accounting prep and cash flow yourself Obsession with detail – clean handling of numbers, small errors bother you before they bother anyone else AI-first: workflows, agents and automations are your default solution, not the exception.
