Travel packages – 4 one-day excursions Job Description Teach English as Second Language and use other subject areas (e.g., Music/Drama/Art) to reinforce language skill development. Even recent education graduates can teach in China while gaining invaluable overseas teaching and cultural experience. Responsibilities: The ESL teacher will be responsible for providing daily instruction from both the Ontario curriculum and the local curriculum. Ontario’s Growing Success philosophy is utilized for assessment and evaluation. The successful candidate will create a supportive yet challenging English learning environment that is modeled on the Ontario classroom experience, employing methods such as individualized instruction and assessment for, as, and of learning. While the local education model may focus on repetition and memorization of vocabulary, in the ESL program students will learn English through meaningful, authentic, engaging and fun activities. They will become proficient and confident enough to employ their English language skills in any situation. A successful candidate must be able to work effectively as a member of a team to support student success. Teachers will co-plan and have opportunities to meet regularly with peers to implement the program. Collaboration with other teachers, administration, parents, students and the school is necessary to ensure alignment of philosophy and curriculum implementation.
