Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity You will join Beca’s Building Services Electrical team, working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary specialists on projects that improve communities across New Zealand, Australia and the Asia Pacific. This is a development focused role, well suited to graduates or early career engineers who want strong technical mentorship, exposure to a broad range of building projects, a supportive environment where learning is part of everyday work, and clear pathways to progress your career and professional registration. You will be supported to build confidence, capability and independence at the right pace, while still being trusted with real, meaningful work. Depending on your level of experience, you will support the design and delivery of electrical building services systems such as lighting, power and low voltage services under the guidance of senior engineers. You will contribute to calculations, drawings, reports and technical documentation to a high standard, while learning how projects are delivered end to end within a consulting environment. You will collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions and gain exposure to a variety of projects, from commercial and civic buildings to infrastructure that supports growing communities. You will develop your technical, communication and professional skills through on the job learning, mentoring and structured development, while actively working towards CPEng or professional registration with Beca’s support. Ko wai koe | About you You may be a recent graduate or have a few years of industry or consulting experience. Either way, you are curious, motivated and keen to grow. Ideally, you will bring a degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, an interest in building services electrical design, a collaborative mindset and willingness to learn, and clear communication skills with a thoughtful, team oriented approach. You will also be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to projects that deliver positive community and sustainability outcomes. Previous consulting or industry experience is welcomed but not essential. We are more interested in your potential, values and attitude.
