About this role

Title: Director of Operations, Contract Logistics

Salary: $150,000 - $190,000 USD + bonus + local benefits

Location: Augusta, Georgia, US.

Relocation Assistance can be provided.


JBAndrews is currently partnered with a growing provider of Contract Logistics as they look to appoint a Director of Operations for their sites in Augusta, Georgia. Experience with automation is preferred and the ability to present to C-Suite is essential.


About the role:

The Director of Operations is responsible for the operation and financial performance by providing direction and leadership to associates at this facility. This position is responsible for developing and leading a team that will manage the employee performance, inventory, vendor, carrier, and customer relationships. This role is ultimately responsible for ensuring that orders are selected accurately and packed/shipped without damage for timely delivery.


Responsibilities:

  • Full P&L responsibility
  • Ensure safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operations
  • Ensure quality management system procedures are implemented and followed throughout the facility.
  • Oversight and management of both operations and administrative/customer service functions
  • Monitors and ensures financial goals are met, providing updates and progress regularly to executive team
  • Assists in rate negotiations by supplying pertinent data and customer requirements to management, in addition to overseeing rate filings for local clients
  • Works in conjunction with sales team to vet potential business opportunities
  • Interviews, hires, terminates, executes corrective action and participates in regular staff conversations
  • Conducts annual reviews for exempt/supervisor employees and others if needed
  • Recommends and implements salary changes for staff
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to think strategically and make effective decisions
  • Must be able to work with a wide range of employees, suppliers and customers
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines
  • Some travel required
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime (which may include weekends)


Qualifications:

  • Previous leadership experience with oversight of multiple managers and supervisors
  • Project management
  • Minimum of 7 years industry experience; Minimum of 5 years management experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
