We are actively seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Custody Inreach Worker to contribute to our successful service. Location: Lewisham Full Time Hours: 37.5 hours per week Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. Responsibilities CGL Lewisham is a fully integrated service responsible for delivering a range of interventions. About the role: Undertake cell sweeps and liaise with custody staff throughout the shift to speak to detainees, to promote the service and complete referrals Provide interventions to people identified as substance users and be the navigator for these interventions, advocating on behalf of the service user. Participate with follow up support for those service users recently discharged from the custody suite Work as part of a team to identify people who have a history of custody suite admission and support them to improve their lives and reduce reoffending. Provide brief interventions including harm minimisation and overdose advice for those in custody, particularly where there is ambivalence about engaging with community services. Work with local providers to ensure the provision of Naloxone is promoted and accessible for those seen in custody, either at the point of release or by accessing their local community service. About you: Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills Knowledge of effective intervention to address andreduce repeat reoffending. Experience of working in a police custodyenvironment.
