Job Overview The Catering Department at Prince Philip Hospital is currently looking to recruit a Catering Assistant who would like to join a large team of individuals within the department in providing an effective and efficient cleaning and catering service. The successful candidate will play an integral role within the team in ensuring that the food is prepared, delivered and the department is cleaned to the highest standard. The contract available is 1 x 37.5 hour post. This contract is to work 5 days a week, Monday to Sunday on a 3 week rota and will include Bank Holidays as and when required for which additional payment is made. Main duties of the job As part of the Catering Assistant role, your duties will include assisting the cook in charge with all aspects of food provision, deep cleaning the kitchen area, and cleaning equipment used throughout the day. The department will provide full training. Working hours are between 06:00 am and 20:00 pm. The successful candidate will receive all uniform. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Our services are provided in: Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 99 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services Hywel Dda University Health Board operates a bilingual policy.
