The Campaign Director supports the day‑to‑day design, coordination and delivery of multiple large‑scale, integrated EU 360° communication campaigns. The role combines strategic oversight, client partnership, and team leadership, with a strong focus on excellence in delivery, financial soundness, and sustainable campaign structures. The Campaign Director oversees the campaign pipeline and takes strategic and operational responsibility for several flagship campaigns, working closely with Senior Communication Managers. They play a key role in coaching teams, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to business growth. Key Responsibilities Campaign Coordination & Management Oversee multiple campaigns in deployment, ensuring smooth processes from set‑up and implementation through to closure. Take direct responsibility for selected campaigns, co‑leading them with Senior Communication Managers from a strategic and client‑relationship perspective. Ensure a strong strategic foundation across campaigns, aligning teams and deliverables with overarching communication objectives. Support Senior Communication Managers in structuring campaigns, defining workflows, and briefing internal experts and external subcontractors. Review campaign strategies, creative concepts, channel mixes and key deliverables to ensure strategic coherence and high‑quality implementation. Oversee contractual, financial and risk management across campaigns, ensuring sound budget control and profitability. Ensure consistent application of Prince2 methodology within campaign teams. Report regularly to the Campaign Strategy Director (CSD), proactively flagging risks, challenges and mitigation actions. Team Leadership & Development Foster a high‑performing and collaborative team culture, promoting professionalism, ownership and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and coaching to campaign teams, particularly on client relationship management, team coordination and process excellence. Share regular feedback with the CSD on team performance (with the CSD as direct line manager). Set up and lead regular individual and team check‑ins to monitor progress, workload and development needs. Contribute to the design and implementation of training and growth programmes in close collaboration with the CSD. Client Partnership & Business Development Support Communication Managers in building strong, trusted and long‑term client relationships, positioning ICF Next as a key strategic partner. Actively monitor opportunities for contingency activation, up‑selling, scope optimisation and profitability improvement through budget re‑allocation. Contribute to campaign bid proposals by sharing lessons learned, insights and strategic recommendations within the relevant portfolio. Expected Profile A minimum of 10 years of experience in leading large‑scale, integrated communication campaigns, ideally within an EU institutional or public affairs context. Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate objectives into clear campaign structures and actionable delivery plans. Solid background in client relationship management, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor. Demonstrated experience in managing complex budgets, contracts and financial performance across multiple projects. Natural leader and coach, comfortable guiding senior team members and fostering professional growth. Excellent organisational and process management skills, with hands‑on experience using structured project management methodologies (Prince2 or similar). Strong communication skills, with the ability to review and challenge strategy, creative concepts and deliverables constructively.
