Brownfield Redevelopment Project Manager Auburn Hills, MI |Hybrid Schedule | Environmental Consulting & Engineering Local Candidates Preferred About the Role Our client, a long-established environmental consulting and engineering firm (founded in 1985), is seeking a Brownfield Redevelopment Project Manager to lead environmental site assessments, remediation programs, and redevelopment initiatives. This individual will oversee full-lifecycle project delivery while ensuring federal, state, and local compliance and maintaining high-value client relationships. Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of Brownfield redevelopment projects, including environmental site assessments, remediation, design, and construction. Provide guidance to clients and municipalities on redevelopment incentives and strategic planning. Ensure compliance with EPA, CERCLA, and state Brownfield program requirements. Coordinate with public/private stakeholders including developers, community groups, local governments, and consultants. Lead or support proposal development and business development initiatives. Develop project budgets, monitor expenditures, and maintain cost control. Define project tasks, schedules, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies. Resolve project issues proactively and maintain on-time, on-budget delivery. Lead multidisciplinary teams (engineers, scientists, contractors, planners). Maintain continuous communication with clients and manage expectations. Prepare client billing details and monitor outstanding accounts receivable. Identify opportunities for scope expansion and additional revenue. Mentor junior team members and support internal training. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of project management experience. Minimum 10 years of environmental remediation and Brownfield redevelopment experience. Expertise in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). Strong understanding of remediation technologies and environmental compliance frameworks. Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects. Proven client relationship management skills and stable work history. Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a deadline-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience advising on redevelopment incentives. Proposal writing or business development experience. Mentoring and staff development experience. Strong financial and project budgeting skills. Additional Details Hybrid schedule (2 - 3 days in-office weekly). Monday - Friday, standard business hours; local travel to project sites. Limited relocation assistance available.
