Position Overview International has a great opportunity for Second Shift Machinists in our Huntsville Facility to support high‑volume production through the operation of CNC and PLC‑controlled machinery to produce precision, high‑quality components. The Powertrain Manufacturing Plant in Huntsville is a technologically advanced powertrain manufacturing facility that produces high-quality diesel engines and transmissions. These are full‑time positions with consistent hours, competitive pay, air conditioned manufacturing floor and growth opportunities! Ideal candidates have experience in CNC machine operation, and excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment What We Offer $34.50/hour for 3-4 years of experience, + 6% 2nd shift differential $38.00/hour for 5+ years of experience, + 6% 2nd shift differential $2,500 sign on bonus (50% upon hire and 50% after 90 days of employment) $7,500 for relocation if more than 50 miles from work location Schedule Second Shift | Monday – Friday 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM Night shift second shift Responsibilities Follows the P&L Way and all standard work instructions (SWIs), position standards, and SOPs; demonstrates core values and reliable attendance. Works safely at all times, using required PPE, following safety guidelines, and correcting/escalating unsafe conditions. Takes full ownership (“100% mindset”) and independently executes core workflows; meets required competency/certification standards and escalates non-routine issues. Monitors computer screens and interprets data to determine that process is running according to control plan Responds to machine faults and takes corrective action Troubleshoots work-related problems and makes repairs on the spot as needed Documents rework and scrap using the non-conforming material procedure Observes tool wear detection and makes tooling changes when required Works in teams to identify and implement process improvements and error proofing procedures Instructs and certifies other machine technicians to ensure compliance with quality operating standards Verifies compliance with process instructions and control plans, reports deviations to Team Lead Enters defect data into the computer Verifies gage calibration requirements for engine components Anticipates potential production problems by proactively reviewing equipment condition and initiating corrective action when needed. Monitors special characteristics to ensure compliance with control plan requirements Uses computers to interpret and evaluate production data Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED equivalent At least 3 years of Machining Experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Must be willing to work any shift Physical requirements (ability to the following for up to 10 hours per shift): Walk, sit, stand Lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds Head/neck movement Reach outward or above the shoulder Exposure to constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces Internal Employees: Performance ratings must be meeting expectations or above No corrective actions greater than a documented verbal (Step 1) for attendance or performance in the last 12 months Desired Skills 1+ years’ experience working with P&L Way at International Positive attitude and alignment with International’s values Technical College certificate in Machine Tool Technology or similar discipline is a plus Experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment Computer-literate Customer-focused and results driven Metal-cutting machining experience is a plus Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and GD&T is a plus Experience operating production machinery is a plus Benefits and Compensation This position offers competitive hourly pay along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee wellbeing.
