Role Description The VP Business Development is a full-time remote role responsible for driving origination and growth of Horizon Real Estate Finance’s lending and investment portfolios. This role focuses on identifying and developing new borrower, sponsor, and intermediary relationships, while expanding business with existing clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include sourcing new opportunities, conducting market and competitor research, leading deal pipeline management, and collaborating with credit, underwriting, and capital markets teams to structure compelling financing solutions. The VP will lead and negotiate key commercial terms, oversee preparation of proposals and pitch materials, and represent the company in virtual and in-person client meetings, conferences, and industry events. This position also involves forecasting revenue, contributing to business planning, and providing feedback to leadership on product, pricing, and market strategy.
