US Tax Accountant

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Tax Accountant will be part of the Office Services team, supporting Partners and internal stakeholders across tax compliance, tax and estate planning, accounting and financial management, cash flow and investment management, and special projects. This role offers exposure to complex hedge fund structures, specialized tax regulations, and a diverse range of investment products.

Tax Compliance

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for Partners.
• Calculate and file quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Prepare tax returns for trusts, LLCs, partnerships, and tax-exempt entities across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

Tax Planning & Advisory

• Assist with tax, estate, and cash flow planning for Partners, employees, and internal investors.
• Provide ad hoc tax-related guidance and support.
• Stay informed on changes in U.S. and relevant international tax regulations and communicate key updates.

Accounting & Financial Management

• Prepare financial statements for closely held entities.
• Record and maintain monthly accounting transactions.
• Assist in preparing partner-specific financial statements and cash flow schedules to support planning and decision-making.

Research & Special Projects

• Support tax planning and research initiatives at the management company level, including:
• Sales and use tax matters
• Federal and state tax audits
• State apportionment and nexus analyses
• R&D tax credit evaluations
• Review Annual Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) filings across applicable jurisdictions.
• Participate in special projects related to tax, accounting, and financial management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of tax accounting experience, preferably with U.S. tax compliance, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, tax-exempt entities, or financial services environments.
• CPA or EA certification preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, database applications, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and execution skills with a process improvement mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
