Position Summary
Green Pulse Engineering India is looking for a Solar Electrical Engineer to support U.S. renewable energy projects. This is a full remote position based in India.
The selected candidate will work on Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, EV Charging Station, and related electrical power system projects. The role requires familiarity with U.S. electrical design standards, National Electrical Code requirements, renewable energy equipment, and engineering deliverables used for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, technically strong, self-motivated, and comfortable working remotely with U.S.-based project teams across different time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical design drawings for Solar PV, BESS, EV Charging Station, and electrical power system projects.
- Develop single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, site electrical layouts, equipment layouts, cable schedules, conduit schedules, grounding plans, and electrical details.
- Support solar preliminary designs, including system sizing, layout review, equipment selection, DC/AC ratio review, and feasibility-level design support.
- Support Solar PV engineering, including module stringing, inverter selection, combiner/recombiner layouts, inverter station layouts, AC collection layouts, grounding, and monitoring system coordination.
- Support BESS design, including battery container layouts, PCS/inverter layouts, MV transformer interfaces, auxiliary power, grounding, control interfaces, and charge/discharge operating modes.
- Support EV Charging Station design, including charger layouts, service sizing, transformer sizing, panel schedules, trenching/conduit routing, utility coordination drawings, and load calculations.
- Perform DC and AC electrical calculations, including voltage drop, cable sizing, conduit fill, equipment loading, grounding checks, and basic short-circuit review.
- Assist with electrical power studies by preparing design inputs, equipment data, one-line diagrams, and load information.
- Review equipment datasheets and vendor documents for PV modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, recombiners, battery containers, PCS units, EV chargers, and monitoring equipment.
- Prepare permit, IFC, construction, and as-built electrical drawing packages.
- Support responses to comments from U.S. clients, utilities, AHJs, owner’s engineers, and professional engineers.
- Coordinate remotely with internal teams, U.S.-based engineers, project managers, and external consultants.
- Attend virtual project coordination meetings as required.
- Maintain project documentation and follow company design standards and quality control procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 2 to 6 years of experience in Solar PV, BESS, EV Charging, or electrical power system design.
- Experience working on U.S. renewable energy projects is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of Solar PV system design, including DC and AC system components.
- Familiarity with Battery Energy Storage System design and basic operating concepts.
- Familiarity with EV Charging Station electrical design.
- Ability to read and prepare electrical drawings using AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical calculations and equipment sizing.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a full remote environment.
- Ability to coordinate with U.S. project teams across different time zones.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with commercial, industrial, community solar, or utility-scale solar projects.
- Experience with BESS projects, including AC-coupled or DC-coupled systems.
- Experience with EV charging infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with medium-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, reclosers, protection equipment, and grounding systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, PVcase, ETAP, SKM, CYMCAP, or similar tools.
- Ability to review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
- Understanding of project phases such as feasibility, preliminary design, permit design, IFC design, construction support, and as-built documentation.
- Experience responding to utility, AHJ, owner’s engineer, client, or PE review comments.
