Position Description
ECG Software Design and Release (D&R) Engineer Position Overview The Electronic Central Gateway (ECG) Software Design and Release (D&R) Engineer is a critical role responsible for leading the delivery, integration, and validation of gateway software across next-generation vehicle architectures (FNV2, FNV3, and FNV3.x). This role acts as a vital bridge between internal software development teams, program management, and external Base Tech Platform (BTP) suppliers. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in automotive embedded systems with agile project management skills to ensure high-quality software is delivered on time, supporting successful vehicle launches and continuous post-launch improvements. - Lead Software Delivery and Integration: delivering and integrating ECG software into FNV2, FNV3, and FNV3.x vehicles. This includes overseeing technical execution, meeting deadlines, and adhering to project requirements. - Drive Vehicle Launch Success: Provide leadership and support for the successful launch of new vehicles by ensuring timely integration and functionality of ECG software. Manage ongoing improvements and software maintenance to address post-launch issues. - Foster Agile Collaboration: Facilitate effective collaboration between program teams, BTP suppliers and internal software development team. Champion agile methodologies to ensure efficient and timely software delivery across multiple vehicle programs. - Cultivate Innovation and Improvement: Promote a team environment that fosters innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Encourage exploration of new solutions and strategies to enhance ECG software. - Ensure On-Time Delivery: Partner with software development program management teams to define and implement processes that guarantee the on-time delivery of software, aligned with established vehicle program requirements. - Leverage Data-Driven Approach: Advocate for and utilize connected vehicle data to support engineering problem solving and data-driven decision-making processes. - On-site support: Provide on-site support to troubleshoot, flash, test and validate ECG SW at system level (Breadboard or vehicle) to help collect data required to improve SW quality. - Proactive Risk Management: Apply project management best practices by proactively identifying potential project risks associated with software development and integration. Develop mitigation strategies or escalate critical risks for timely resolution.

Experience Required
- 3+ years of experience in automotive software development, software integration, or Systems/D&R Engineering. - Proven experience working with vehicle electrical architectures (experience with Ford FNV architectures is highly preferred). - Experience working with tier-1/tier-2 suppliers and managing supplier software delivery timelines. - Demonstrated experience participating in or leading vehicle launch activities and troubleshooting software issues in a plant or test-lab environment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills to manage supplier relationships and cross-functional alignment. - Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.

HYBRID - Manage and oversee the technical execution, integration, and delivery of ECG software into FNV2, FNV3, and FNV3.x vehicle programs. Ensure all software releases meet strict project requirements, quality standards, and program milestones. - Provide hands-on leadership and engineering support to guarantee the timely integration and seamless functionality of ECG software during new vehicle launches. Manage ongoing software maintenance, updates, and over-the-air (OTA) improvements to address and resolve post-launch issues. - Facilitate highly effective collaboration and communication between vehicle program teams, BTP suppliers, and internal software development teams. Champion agile methodologies (Scrum/SAFe) to streamline processes and ensure efficient, timely software delivery across multiple vehicle programs. - Partner closely with software development program management teams to define, implement, and optimize processes that guarantee on-time software delivery aligned with established vehicle program milestones. - Provide essential on-site engineering support to troubleshoot, flash, test, and validate ECG software at the system level. Perform hands-on validation on breadboards (HIL simulators) or physical test vehicles to collect diagnostic data that drives software quality improvements. - Advocate for and utilize connected vehicle data and telemetry to support engineering root-cause analysis, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making processes. - Apply project management best practices to proactively identify, track, and assess potential risks associated with software development and integration. Develop robust mitigation strategies and escalate critical risks to leadership for timely resolution. - Promote a collaborative team culture that encourages innovation, creative problem-solving, and continuous process improvement. Explore and implement new tools, strategies, and methodologies to enhance ECG software performance and delivery efficiency.
