Overview

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to join a growing data team working on large-scale analytics and data platform initiatives. This is a long-term remote contract opportunity for a consultant based in Poland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining modern cloud-based data solutions, working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable data products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines within a Snowflake environment.
• Build and optimise ELT/ETL processes using modern data engineering practices.
• Develop and maintain data models to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence requirements.
• Work closely with analysts and business users to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across the platform.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and warehouse performance.
• Optimise Snowflake workloads, storage, and query performance.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to platform improvements.
• Support CI/CD processes and deployment activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and data lineage information.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Experience building and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modelling principles, including dimensional modelling and star schema design.
• Experience with Python for data processing and automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within distributed teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with dbt.
• Knowledge of Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting platforms.
• Exposure to Data Vault modelling.
• Snowflake certifications.
• Experience working within international enterprise environments.
