Description We are looking for a Simulation Engineer Intern to join our 1D/3D CFD Simulation Team for a minimum of 3 months. In this role, you will support the development of simulation models for core engine systems and components (lubrication systems, cooling systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, etc.) of Jenbacher and Waukesha high-performance industrial reciprocating gas engines. What INNIO Offers You: An innovative and international working environment Work on industry-leading solutions Flexible working time model, possibility of remote work Convenient office location in the city center Company bike locker room Career development programs and training opportunities Access to learning platforms and language courses Your Responsibilities: Support the development of gas engine 1D cooling and lubrication system simulation models from concept layout through validation and to series production implementation Assist in ensuring the technical quality of simulation models Collaborate with design, analysis, and testing teams to achieve project goals Contribute to innovative solutions for new product development Participate in root cause analysis cases Interact with stakeholders such as project management, design, development, and validation teams Help outline validation campaigns to ensure simulation model quality Support fulfillment of critical requirements and management of technical risks Propose design improvements on component and system levels Assist in managing and developing component and system libraries Prepare and present technical reports to internal stakeholders Your Profile: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or similar field Excellent communication in English (written and oral); German is an advantage Good communication skills and proactive approach Comfortable presenting technical topics to a range of audiences Understanding of physics and controls of fluid flow systems Knowledge of reciprocating engines and their systems is a plus Experience with GT Power or equivalent software (Simcenter Amesim, Matlab/Simulink, Flomaster, Simscape, Dymola, KULI) is an advantage Programming experience with Python, C, Matlab and/or Modelica is an advantage CAD software experience (Catia, SpaceClaim, Creo) is an advantage CFD software experience (CFX, Fluent, Converge) is an advantage Willingness to travel on international business trips
