We are looking for a proven short form video editor to join our team and help us create engaging content.

This role is focused only on creating content for our agency brand, not for our clients.

You will edit multiple short form videos per week, and be a full time employee for our business. We are EXTREMELY structured and organized, and we only work with editors who are also very serious about having good organizational skills.

This is not a part-time, or a freelancing role. You will be a full time employee for our company, and only our company. We are looking for FULL TIME Short Form Video Editors to join our team.

We are ONLY looking for applicants outside the United States who are comfortable working at $10/Hr for ~40 Hours per week.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Edit short form videos for StrouseHouse’s own social media accounts
• Take raw footage from agency shoots, talking-head videos, podcasts, Looms, and internal content days
• Cut down long videos into short form clips for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels, and LinkedIn
• Remove dead space, pauses, mistakes, filler words, and anything that slows the video down
• Create strong openings that make the video feel fast, clear, and attention-grabbing in the first few seconds
• Add captions that are clean, easy to read, and matched to our brand style
• Add simple motion graphics, zooms, cuts, b-roll, screenshots, headlines, and visual callouts where needed
• Make the videos feel polished, but not over-edited or cheesy
• Turn agency talking points into clean, fast-paced videos that are easy for business owners to understand
• Edit videos around topics like SEO, Google Ads, websites, CRM, lead generation, local business marketing, case studies, client results, and agency behind-the-scenes
• Create multiple versions of the same video when needed with different hooks, captions, or pacing
• Format every video properly for vertical platforms
• Export videos in the correct size, quality, and file format
• Organize edited videos, raw footage, project files, thumbnails, and exports in the correct folders
• Follow the content calendar and complete assigned edits on time
• Work with the content strategist to understand the goal of each video before editing
• Make revisions based on feedback from Jack or the team
• Keep the editing style consistent with StrouseHouse’s brand
• Pull usable clips from longer videos and identify the strongest moments
• Add music or sound effects when appropriate, without making the video distracting
• Make sure the final video is clear, professional, and built to hold attention
• Help test different editing styles to see what performs best
• Review past content performance and use that to improve future edits
• Stay up to date on short form editing trends, but only use trends that fit our brand
• Prepare final videos for posting or handoff to the social media/content team

• Experience editing short form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels
• Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, retention, captions, and how to keep people watching
• Ability to edit clean, professional, vertical videos in 9:16 format & 16:9 format
• Experience using editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar
• Ability to cut down longer footage into short, clear, engaging clips
• Strong attention to detail with captions, spelling, timing, audio, and visual layout
• Ability to follow a specific brand style and keep content consistent
• Comfortable editing talking-head videos, founder content, podcast clips, Looms, screen recordings, and behind-the-scenes content
• Able to add captions, b-roll, screenshots, zooms, headlines, callouts, and simple motion graphics when needed
• Understands how to make content feel polished without making it over-edited or cheesy
• Organized with files, folders, exports, project files, and revisions
• Able to take feedback and make changes quickly
• Comfortable working with deadlines and a consistent content schedule
• Basic understanding of marketing, business, lead generation, or agency content is a plus
• Portfolio or examples of previous short form videos are required

• You understand that the first 3 seconds of a video matter
• You know how to make talking-head videos feel fast, clean, and engaging
• You can take raw footage and turn it into content that feels polished and professional
• You are comfortable creating multiple versions of the same video with different hooks, captions, or pacing
• You care about details like caption timing, audio quality, spacing, spelling, and clean exports
• You can follow directions without needing every small detail explained
• You are organized and keep your projects, exports, and raw files easy to find
• You are comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions without taking it personally
• You can move quickly without sacrificing quality
• You like testing different styles and seeing what performs best
• You understand that our content is meant to build trust, educate business owners, and generate leads for the agency
• You can make videos look professional without using random effects, cheesy transitions, or overdone editing trends
• You are reliable, responsive, and able to complete assigned edits on time

• You only know how to make basic cuts and do not understand pacing or retention
• You need constant step-by-step direction for every edit
• You are not comfortable editing a high volume of short form videos
• You do not pay close attention to spelling, captions, timing, audio, or formatting
• You over-edit videos with too many effects, transitions, sounds, or animations
• You cannot follow a consistent brand style
• You are slow to respond or miss deadlines
• You get defensive when feedback or revisions are requested
• You are disorganized with project files, exports, and folders
• You are only interested in creative edits and do not care about whether the content performs
• You do not understand social media platforms or short form content
• You need someone else to find every clip, every hook, and every usable moment for you
• You are not comfortable working on marketing, business, or agency-related content
• You prefer long form editing only and do not enjoy short form content
• You are looking for a role where you can edit however you want without following our process or brand style

This is a Full Time Job, you must be available from 9AM-5PM EST

Pay starts at $10/Hr and is non-negotiable. If you prove to be a good addition to our team, we will increase your pay as you continue to prove yourself.

There is room to grow based on performance, creativity, and consistency.
