Mission We are seeking a detail-oriented and financially savvy Portfolio Loan Monitor ing Specialist to oversee and manage a portfolio of loans and credit facilities for renewable energy projects in Spain. This individual will play a critical role in evaluating ongoing credit risk, tracking covenant compliance, and ensuring the long-term performance of financed assets across solar, wind, battery storage, and other clean energy technologies. Responsibilities Loan Portfolio Monitoring : Oversee a portfolio of project finance and corporate loans in the renewable energy sector, ensuring timely identification and mitigation of credit risks. Financial Performance Tracking : Analyze borrower financial statements, project performance reports, and key financial metrics (DSCR, LLCR, IRR) to assess ongoing credit health. Covenant Compliance : Monitor financial and non-financial covenant compliance; track deliverables and enforce loan documentation requirements. Risk Assessment & Reporting : Prepare detailed risk assessments, internal memos, and portfolio summaries; escalate issues as needed to credit committees or risk management teams. Stakeholder Coordination : Serve as the main point of contact for borrowers, internal teams (e.g., credit, legal, ESG), and external stakeholders (e.g., co-lenders, agents, consultants). Data Management : Maintain accurate loan data, amortization schedules, compliance calendars, and performance dashboards. Problem Loan Management : Identify early warning signs and collaborate with restructuring or workout teams in the event of performance deterioration or defaults. Portfolio Analytics : Contribute to stress testing, sector exposure reporting, and other portfolio-level analytics for senior management and regulatory purposes. Job Requirements Desired education Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field; advanced degree (MBA or MS Finance) or CFA preferred. Technical Knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English (at least C1 level), including the ability to summarize complex financial issues clearly. Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas). Proficiency in creating PowerPoint presentations for reporting purposes. Experience with loan monitoring tools or systems (e.g., Moody’s Risk Analyst, Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI). Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking. Previous experience At least 3 years of experience in loan portfolio management , credit analysis, or project finance , preferably in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector. Strong understanding of financial modeling, loan agreements, project finance structures, and credit risk assessment. Preferred experience • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, storage, etc.) and associated revenue models (e.g., PPA, merchant exposure). • Experience with loans, subordinated/mezzanine debt, or syndicated loan structures. • Prior exposure to ESG risk monitoring and sustainability-linked loan reporting.
