Senior Underwriter

Job Title: Senior Underwriter Location: Remote Job Type: Full-Time Company: Village Capital & Investment LLC Introduction: Village Capital is a well-established mortgage company committed to delivering a quick, efficient, and quality mortgage loan process to our customers and business partners. We are a nationwide mortgage lender specializing in FHA, VA, USDA Loans. Our Headquarters are located in Henderson NV. We are a lender/servicer, who works with loan originators, brokers, and correspondents to offer our customers great rates and good terms. Key Responsibilities: Analyze residential mortgage loan applications including credit reports, income documentation, asset statements, property appraisals, and other supporting documents Work closely with loan processors, originators, and closers to obtain missing information or clarify documentation Maintain current knowledge of loan program guidelines, compliance requirements, and market trends Utilize automated underwriting systems (e.g., DU, LP) and perform manual underwriting when necessary. Maintain productivity, quality, and turn-time standards as defined by management. Participate in internal and external audits by providing documentation and responses as requested Basic Qualifications: Proven experience with problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Windows and Encompass (Encompass preferred) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Specific Qualifications: Minimum of five years experience underwriting mortgage loans. Proficiency with Encompass and automated underwriting systems (DU, LP) In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and underwriting guidelines. Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of files in a fast-paced environment. DE (Direct Endorsement) certification for FHA loans.
