This is a remote position. SUMMARY The Senior Google Workspace Technician serves as a subject matter expert responsible for architecting, implementing, supporting, and optimizing Google Workspace environments across a portfolio of managed services clients. This role combines advanced technical troubleshooting, billable project execution, and technical leadership to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing collaboration environments. This is a senior escalation-level position within the Managed Services team and requires deep expertise in Google Workspace administration, identity management, email systems, and cloud security best practices. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Google Workspace Subject Matter Expertise Administer and architect Google Workspace environments across multiple client tenants Design and maintain: Organizational Unit (OU) structures Admin roles and delegation models MFA and context-aware access policies Gmail routing and compliance configurations Drive governance and shared drive architecture Implement and optimize security controls including: Advanced phishing and spam protections Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Google Vault retention policies Security Center monitoring and alerting Provide best practice guidance to clients on licensing, governance, and roadmap decisions Advanced Troubleshooting & Escalation Serve as Tier 3 escalation resource for complex Google Workspace incidents Troubleshoot: Mail routing and DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) Identity federation and SSO issues Drive sharing and permissions anomalies Third-party application integrations Own high-priority incidents through resolution Engage Google Support when necessary and manage cases to closure Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative remediation Project Execution Lead and execute Google Workspace–related projects including: Email and Drive migrations Tenant onboarding and standardization Domain changes and consolidations Security hardening initiatives Deliver projects within scope, timeline, and budget Document as-built configurations and complete handoff to support teams Identify scope risks early and communicate proactively Technical Leadership & Operational Impact Mentor Tier 1–2 technicians Develop and maintain SOPs and knowledge base documentation Identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions Recommend improvements to service offerings an QUALIFICATIONS Required: 5+ years of IT systems or cloud support experience 3+ years hands-on Google Workspace administration Experience in an MSP or multi-tenant environment preferred Strong understanding of: Google Workspace Admin Console Email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) Identity and SSO integrations Security and compliance configurations Experience leading technical projects Preferred Certifications: Google Workspace Administrator Certification Google Professional Collaboration Engineer JOB REQUIREMENTS Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement. Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
