Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager (NY or WDC)

Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join their Enterprise Content Management Systems team. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive project plans for key technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and successful project delivery. The Senior IT Project Manager will collaborate closely with both business and IT stakeholders to define goals, track progress, and deliver measurable outcomes.
In this capacity, the Senior IT Project Manager will:
Manage projects in accordance with the firm’s established SDLC process, ensuring proper creation and delivery of SDLC deliverables and leading planning for SRB stage gate reviews.
Oversee a portfolio of projects across various business areas and systems, driving multiple workstreams concurrently.
Partner with IT leadership to understand project sequencing, identify dependencies, and ensure timely execution.
Develop project plans, manage sprints, and track tasks, budgets, status reports, and key project artifacts.
Deliver effective reporting for senior leadership on project status, risks, issues, and budget adherence.
Manage the intake, tracking, and prioritization of new work requests.
Schedule and lead meetings with structured agendas, clear goals, and actionable outcomes.
Collaborate with IT and business teams to coordinate work, remove blockers, and maintain consistent progress.
Demonstrate responsiveness and clear communication with leadership and stakeholders.
Advanced knowledge of project management tools such as Atlassian Confluence and JIRA.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate challenges to drive consistent progress.
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively and efficiently.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Highly collaborative and customer-focused approach to project delivery.
Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
Experience managing large, complex projects within a professional services or legal industry environment.
10+ years of experience in a project management role (preferred).
7+ years of executive-level engagement and customer service (required).
7+ years of information technology experience (required).
