About Centripetal Advisors Centripetal Advisors is the financial co-pilot for early-stage B2B startups — from post-seed through Series B. We partner with founders in SaaS, healthtech, fintech, and analytics to help them scale faster, smarter, and with better information. From capital raises to financial modeling to navigating M&A, we’re the embedded alternative to a full-time CFO. We’ve raised $115M+ across debt, equity, and converts for our clients. 22+ transactions completed. Average engagement is 2.5 years and rising. We work with 2–4 clients at a time, embedded 10–20 hours a week. We’re not a traditional finance shop. We’re operators who happen to run a CFO practice — embedded, agile, and personally invested in our clients’ outcomes (often literally — we put our own capital into the companies we serve). What you’ll do This is not a support role. You’ll lead client engagements end-to-end, sitting across from founders and boards as the senior finance voice in the room. Expect 2–4 active engagements at any time. In a typical week you will: Lead client calls directly — discovery, board prep, fundraise strategy, M&A scoping Build and pressure-test the financial model that anchors the next raise Sit in board meetings; co-author the deck; field investor questions in the room Run the diligence process for a debt or equity raise — narrative, data room, lender/investor selection, term sheet negotiation Stand up a SaaS chart of accounts, revenue recognition policy, and monthly close discipline that survives a Series A diligence pass Define the KPI framework that founders actually use to run the business — not the one they show investors Identify capital structure inefficiencies and build the path to fix them: warrants, covenants, options pool sizing, 409A timing Be the founder’s first call when the question is bigger than finance Who you are You’ve sat in the operator seat. Probably as a Head of Finance, VP Finance, EVP Finance, CFO, or fractional CFO across one or more growth-stage B2B startups. You’ve raised capital from equity and or lenders. You’ve taken a board pack from blank doc to investor-ready and walked through it under questioning. You’ve helped make the call on whether to do another round or stretch runway and wait for better terms. You’re 8–15 years in. Likely some combination of investment banking, consulting, big 4, or strategic finance early on, then operator stints inside growth-stage companies. Transaction experience — capital raises, acquisitions, — is a strong fit signal. You can do the work yourself; you also have the judgment to know which work matters and which is theater. You’re a generalist by design. The companies we serve span B2B - vertical software is our bread and butter but the verticals vary. The right candidate has worn the finance hat across more than one vertical and brings pattern recognition, not just industry knowledge. You’re a strong writer and a clear communicator. Founders like talking to you because you give straight answers. Investors take your numbers seriously because they don’t fall apart under questioning. You care about company outcomes more than spreadsheet aesthetics. You’ve seen what happens when financial discipline breaks at the wrong moment. Why Centripetal Lead, don’t support. You’ll lead engagements, run client relationships, and operate as the senior finance voice in the room. No commute, no office, no facetime culture. Fully remote. We measure ownership and outcomes. Direct exposure to top-tier founders and investors — many of our clients are backed by funds you’ve heard of, and we work shoulder-to-shoulder with their boards. Angel investing access. You’ll have the opportunity to invest in client rounds — many off-market — alongside the partners. Work with a senior team. Charles has 20 years of experience and has been a fractional CFO for 8 years. He’s worked with VC, angels, growth equity and sat on boards. You’ll learn from someone who has done what you’ve done, at the next level. Compensation that’s competitive at the top end of the Canadian market for this work, paid in USD.
