Senior Database Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to lead complex database migrations and optimize database environments, focusing on cloud-based solutions and heterogeneous database conversions.

Kindly note that this role supports remote work, but only from within Ukraine.

Responsibilities

• Migrate MS SQL databases to PostgreSQL as part of overall migration activities
• Update application code to adopt PostgreSQL and AWS RDS
• Migrate stored procedures from T-SQL to PL/pgSQL
• Update and optimize database operational scripts
• Support cloud migration initiatives using AWS and Amazon RDS
• Utilize AWS Data Migration Service (DMS) for seamless data transfer
• Ensure database performance and reliability during and after migration
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure application compatibility
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues

Requirements

• 5+ years of working experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Expertise in Amazon RDS, Amazon Web Services and AWS Data Migration Service (DMS)
• Knowledge of PL/pgSQL, T-SQL and RDS for PostgreSQL
• Background in heterogeneous database conversions and cloud migration (AWS)
• Skills in updating and optimizing database operational scripts
• Capability to migrate stored procedures between T-SQL and PL/pgSQL
