Senior Accountant, Accounting & Tax

This is a remote position and you can work from your HOME OFFICE in Canada.

What we expect from You?

• MUST HAVE - Minimum 3 years experience in a Public Accounting firm in the accounting/tax role.
• MUST HAVE - Working Experience with cloud-based accounting software, such as Xero, Quickbooks Online, Dext, Hubdoc and Tax software such as iFirm, Taxprep or Profile.
• Core Values - Initiative, Accountability, Independent delivery without supervision, meet deadlines.
• CPA designation or working toward one.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and Canadian taxation rules.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive problem solver with a customer centric focus.
• Excellent organizational skills, takes accountability and ability to multitask competing priorities.
• Team player, energetic and highly motivated with a desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients.
• Provide top notch support to your clients’ questions.
• Review, prepare and file GST/HST/PST returns.
• Review, prepare and present month-end reports to clients as a Controllership service.
• Review and prepare Compilation Engagements and Corporate tax returns.
• Provide tax planning advice and scenarios for clients.
• Ensure appropriate documentation of standard operating procedures for your clients.
• Research and draft technical memos or guidance on accounting and tax issues.
• Prepare Forecasts and Cash Flow analysis for clients as part of Advisory services.
• Lead responses to CRA queries, government registrations and other related matters.
• Supervise, coach and mentor junior staff members and offshore team.
