Role Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to independently manage a portfolio of approximately 15 clients. You will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, month-end close, financial reporting, and tax-ready file preparation using QuickBooks Online and integrated tools. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Client Accounting & Bookkeeping Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for ~15 Canadian business clients Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations Categorize transactions according to Canadian accounting standards (ASPE) Manage accounts payable/receivable processes when applicable Ensure monthly financial records are clean and tax-ready Month-End & Reporting Perform month-end close procedures for all assigned clients Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and intercompany accounts Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow if required) Identify inconsistencies and proactively resolve accounting issues Tax Preparation Support Collaborate with tax reviewers or CPA leads Client Communication Respond to client accounting inquiries in a structured and professional manner Request missing documents and ensure compliance deadlines are met Explain financial results in simple, client-friendly language when needed Systems & Process Optimization Work primarily in QuickBooks Online and integrated tools Follow standardized SOPs for bookkeeping and month-end close Identify process inefficiencies and suggest automation improvements Maintain high data integrity across all client files Required Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field QuickBooks Online Certification (mandatory) 3–7+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Experience managing multiple clients or entities simultaneously Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills High attention to detail and ability to work independently Technical Skills QuickBooks Online (Advanced proficiency required) Bank reconciliation & financial statement preparation Chart of accounts structuring Expense categorization and COGS allocation Familiarity with tools such as TaxPrep, TaxDome, or similar systems is an asset Comfort working in cloud-based, remote-first environments Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset Highly organized with excellent time management Comfortable handling 15 clients concurrently without loss of quality Proactive communicator (doesn't wait for issues to escalate) Process-driven and systems-oriented thinker Able to work under deadlines (month-end cycles) Performance Expectations Monthly books completed accurately and on time for all clients.
