Cloud Security Architect (SC Cleared) Contract: 6 Months Location: Remote (1 day per month in London) Rate: Up to £600 per day Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Security Architect to play a key role in defining and delivering cloud security architecture across a complex enterprise environment. You'll be responsible for shaping the cloud security strategy, establishing security frameworks and controls, and ensuring security is embedded throughout cloud transformation and operational delivery. This is a highly visible role, working with technical and business stakeholders to drive secure-by-design principles across multiple programmes. Key Responsibilities Define and maintain the cloud security architecture and control framework. Design security solutions that align with business objectives, regulatory requirements and industry best practice. Lead cloud security assessments, identifying risks, vulnerabilities and remediation strategies. Provide architectural guidance across cloud platforms and services, ensuring security is embedded throughout the lifecycle. Support the transition of security controls into managed operational environments. Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure and delivery teams to ensure consistent implementation of security standards. Produce and maintain security architecture documentation, standards and governance artefacts. Act as a subject matter expert for cloud security, advising stakeholders on security strategy, risk and compliance. Contribute to security roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives. Stay current with emerging threats, technologies and industry trends to drive ongoing enhancement of the security posture. Required Experience Strong background in Security Architecture within large-scale enterprise environments. Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud security frameworks and controls. Proven experience across cloud security architecture, cloud security assessments and cloud infrastructure security. Experience supporting cloud migration and transformation programmes. Strong understanding of security governance, risk management and compliance frameworks. Ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Desirable Experience working within government, defence or highly regulated environments. Knowledge of managed cloud security services and security operations. Relevant cloud and security certifications. Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
