About the Role

• We are seeking a highly capable Senior Software Engineer to help drive the next evolution of our platform architecture, engineering standards, and product scalability.
• This role is ideal for a strong technical leader who remains hands-on in development while contributing to architectural direction, engineering best practices, and team mentorship. The successful candidate will play a key role in building scalable systems, improving development processes, and preparing the business for rapid growth.
• We are particularly interested in engineers with strong foundational engineering principles, product thinking, and the potential to grow into future technical leadership or CTO-level responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• You are the technical voice of the development team, taking ownership of release timelines and ensuring alignment with product goals. This involves negotiating and refining functional requirements with UX Designers and Product Managers by actively participating in user story grooming sessions. Your goal is to ensure that acceptance criteria are clear and ready for implementation.
• You take full responsibility for managing technical debt, balancing the immediate needs of the product with long-term scalability. You work closely with Product Managers and the CEO to prioritize and resolve critical/high-severity technical debt, ensuring that the codebase remains scalable to support the company’s growth.
• Your team respects your technical expertise and leadership, trusting you to provide guidance in day-to-day operations and code reviews. You serve as the central pillar in software development, ensuring quality, efficiency and security across all codebases.

Tech Stack:

• They should be highly proficient in TypeScript, Java, or Golang.
• Frontend: ReactJS, TypeScript
• Backend: NodeJS, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL & NoSQL
• Testing: React Testing Library, Cucumber.js, Jest, Wiremock
• Additional Competency: Expertise in mobile development and cloud technologies is essential to prepare for the next phases of growth.
• Domain Experience: Strong preference for candidates with a Fintech background.

Required Qualifications

• You have deep technical expertise in software development and possess strong leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams, including software developers, UX designers, and product managers, through the technical complexities of product development.

• You are proficient in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD), and can mentor a diverse team on adopting best practices in test automation to prevent regression issues.

• You bring extensive experience delivering software products using the Agile SCRUM methodology, with strong analytical skills to facilitate user story grooming, mitigate risks, and estimate development effort through accurate story pointing.

• You bring extensive experience in production environments and are well-versed in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices. When production issues arise, you are able to lead the team in identifying root causes and providing effective technical solutions to resolve them.

• You should have a minimum of 3 years of experience deploying and managing production environments on one of the following cloud platforms: AWS or Azure.
