About The Role
At Samsara, we hire people passionate about building for the long term. As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our R&D teams—including Software Engineering, Machine Learning, and Product Management—with a focus on quality, impact, and a world-class candidate experience. Our approach is outcome-oriented and principled, prioritizing "what exceptional looks like" over traditional recruiting methods. You will be treated as an adult and measured on your impact, with success defined by maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio and hiring approximately 3-4 extraordinary individuals per quarter. This role offers the opportunity to influence our talent strategy, employ innovative sourcing techniques, and collaborate across teams to ensure we attract top-tier talent that aligns with our high standards.
This position is open to candidates residing in the US, excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area. You will be responsible for executing full-cycle recruiting, acting as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders, building proactive talent pipelines, and employing creative sourcing strategies. Additionally, you will optimize hiring processes, support a collaborative team environment, and leverage modern tools and AI thoughtfully to enhance recruitment outcomes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including ownership of high-bar roles with hard-to-close profiles across multiple disciplines
- Proven success in technical recruiting, including hiring for Product Managers, Engineers, and Product Designers
- Experience managing searches for senior stakeholders (Director level and above) with a focus on trust, rigor, and influence
- A "Talent Partner" mindset, contributing insights, data, and structure to elevate hiring standards
- Experience recruiting for innovative, high-growth companies with technical roles
- Ability to develop outbound and passive talent strategies in constrained markets
- Strong skills in navigating complex hiring scenarios, including ambiguity and process risks
- Excellent communication skills to align stakeholders and deliver precise execution
- Experience using AI tools thoughtfully to improve recruiting effectiveness without compromising candidate quality
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for R&D roles, ensuring high-quality and timely hires
- Act as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders, understanding their needs and influencing hiring decisions
- Build and maintain high-caliber talent pipelines through market mapping and long-term engagement programs
- Employ creative sourcing techniques, including mapping talent networks and direct outreach to passive candidates
- Identify and resolve friction points in the hiring journey, bringing structure to ambiguous searches
- Collaborate with team members to foster a "team-first" culture that emphasizes collective success and honest feedback
- Utilize innovative tools and AI thoughtfully to streamline recruiting processes and improve candidate experience
- Maintain a high standard of candidate quality, ensuring a positive experience throughout the recruitment cycle
