Title: Project Manager II Status: Full-Time Location: Santa Clara, California Relocation: Possible for the ideal candidate Salary: $148,800 - $185,999 Visa Support: No Visa Sponsorship Available Position Overview A well-established national construction firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager II to oversee moderately complex construction projects or key portions of large-scale builds. This role is responsible for managing project execution from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring projects stay on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality and safety expectations. This position offers a hybrid schedule with 1 remote workday per week and currently has two openings available . Key Responsibilities Lead and promote jobsite safety initiatives while supporting an injury-free work environment Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions when needed Manage project startup processes and preconstruction planning activities Support estimating efforts including quantity takeoffs, bid coordination, scope development, and bid package preparation Oversee subcontractor bidding, scope review, pricing validation, and contract issuance Manage project submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment with internal teams and vendors Partner with risk management to evaluate subcontractor qualifications and bonding requirements Serve as the primary point of coordination between subcontractors, owners, architects, engineers, vendors, and internal teams Review pricing for project changes and prepare change order documentation Lead project meetings including progress updates and owner/architect meetings Manage owner billing and subcontractor payment applications Develop and maintain project schedules alongside field leadership Identify scheduling risks and implement mitigation plans Maintain documentation related to budgets, schedules, contracts, safety, and quality Prepare financial forecasts and monitor project profitability Lead project closeout activities including punch lists, warranties, and final financial reconciliation Support legal coordination when contract issues arise Manage multiple project components and ensure operational efficiency across all phases Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field Equivalent industry experience may be considered in place of formal education 7+ years of construction project management experience Previous leadership or management experience required Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, budgeting, and project execution Valid and unrestricted driver's license Preferred Qualifications Experience managing moderately complex commercial construction projects Strong background in financial forecasting and cost control Experience working with preconstruction and estimating teams Familiarity with Lean construction practices Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams Key Skills Required Project Management Cost Control Construction Scheduling Budget Forecasting Contract Administration Risk Management Vendor/Subcontractor Coordination Communication & Leadership Work Environment & Travel Hybrid schedule: 1 work-from-home day per week Occasional travel may be required May require relocation based on project assignment Must be willing to work flexible or non-traditional hours as project needs demand Work may take place in both office settings and active construction sites Ability to lift up to 25 pounds may be required Benefits Comprehensive benefits package Full-time employment stability Interview travel reimbursement available Why This Location?
