Our engineers are vital to the innovation and digitalization of BMW Group's driving machines, production, sales and banking processes, and you could be part of our evolving teams. What awaits you Design and architect AI/ML systems, including data pipelines, model training frameworks, and inference platforms Create blueprints for AI infrastructure, including model training environments, feature stores, and data pipelines, ensuring reusability and modularity Evaluate business requirements and translate them into technical AI strategies and architectures Select appropriate AI/ML tools, frameworks, and infrastructure (on-premises or cloud-based) Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives and AI model experimentation Work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and software developers to ensure smooth integration of AI models into products and services Develop protocols for monitoring AI systems in production and handling incidents (e.g., model drift, system failures) Ensure scalability, security, and performance of AI systems Establish best practices for model versioning, reproducibility, monitoring, and explainability Stay current with emerging AI technologies and trends, and assess their applicability to the organization Advocate for responsible AI practices, including fairness, transparency, and compliance Partner with stakeholders across product, engineering, data, legal, and operations to deliver AI-enabled features and services Research and implement new AI technologies and methodologies, staying ahead of industry advancements Drives organization-wide adoption, standards and mindset for responsible AI Partner with leadership on strategy and governance Represent the company to external event (talks, panels, conferences) What should you bring along Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field Over 5+ years of experience in AI/ML development, with over 3+ years in a solution architecture or technical leadership role Deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and computer vision concepts Experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangGraph, LangChain, LangFuse, FAISS, RAGAS, DeepEval Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), MLOps tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker), LLMOps (e.g., LangSmith) Strong software engineering skills, including Python/JAVA, API development, and DevOps principles Experience deploying AI models in real-time production environments Strong understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture Familiarity with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and ethical AI considerations Excellent English verbal and written skills Certifications in AI/ML or cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty) are a plus German communication skills will be a plus What do we offer?
