Job Title: PR & Social Media Lead – Payments (Web2 + Web3)
Location: Remote
Reports to: CMO
About the Role
We're looking for a communications lead who can tell the story of modern payments — whether that's faster cross-border settlements, lower merchant fees, or integrating blockchain as a backend rail. You'll own earned media and owned social, bridging traditional fintech credibility with emerging payment infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
PR & Media Relations

· Build relationships with reporters covering payments, banking, and financial infrastructure.
· Draft press releases, bylines, and Q&As focused on product launches, partnerships (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, bank integrations), and regulatory milestones.
· Lead reactive communications for payment-related regulatory news.
Social Media (Organic)
· Own LinkedIn (primary for B2B/merchant audiences) and X/Twitter (industry conversations, developer/partner updates).
· Create content that explains payment features clearly: settlement speed, fee transparency, uptime, compliance, API reliability.
· Engage with finance, fintech, and payment professional communities.
· Manage crisis social responses with legal/compliance alignment.
Integrated Storytelling
· Turn press wins into LinkedIn carousels, quote graphics, and short-form video for social.
· Support product marketing with social amplification of case studies, and webinars.
· Coordinate with paid media on campaign messaging.
Measuring Success (Tools & Metrics)
You will be expected to quantify performance using standard measurement tools:
PR Measurement
· Tools: Meltwater, or Google Alerts + manual tracking
· Metrics tracked: Impressions, ad value equivalency (AVE), share of voice vs. top 3 competitors, sentiment analysis (positive/neutral/negative), backlinks to domain, journalist relationship volume
Social Media Measurement
· Tools: Native analytics (LinkedIn, X/Twitter), plus Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, or HubSpot
· Metrics tracked: Engagement rate (likes, comments, reposts, shares), follower growth (monthly), profile visits, link clicks, impressions, video views, top-performing content by format
Reporting Cadence
· Weekly social performance dashboard (spreadsheet or Looker/Tableau)
· Monthly PR coverage report with reach and sentiment breakdown
· Quarterly share of voice analysis
Qualifications
Must-Have
· 5+ years in PR and/or social media for fintech, payments, or regulated financial services.
· Proven track record placing stories in mainstream business or financial press.
· Ability to write in a clear, trustworthy, professional voice — no jargon, no hype.
· Understanding of payment concepts: wires, cards, cross-border, fraud, settlement, compliance.
· Fluent in both English and Chinese, with the ability to create, edit, and localize PR materials, media communications, and social content for global and Chinese-speaking audiences.
