As an OpenCart Developer, you will play a critical role in developing, customizing, and optimizing eCommerce websites using the OpenCart platform. You’ll help clients create scalable, secure, and user-friendly shopping experiences that meet both business and customer needs. You Will Be Responsible For: Custom Development: Designing, developing, and maintaining OpenCart websites, themes, modules, and extensions. eCommerce Functionality: Implementing custom checkout flows, product management tools, and cart experiences tailored to client requirements. Third-Party Integration: Integrating APIs for payment gateways, shipping providers, inventory systems, and marketing tools. Performance Optimization: Improving site speed, SEO, and user experience through code optimization and best practices. Security & Maintenance: Performing regular updates, bug fixes, security patches, and ensuring data protection compliance. Client Collaboration: Interacting with clients to gather requirements, suggest improvements, and deliver feature-rich solutions. Testing & QA: Ensuring code quality, browser compatibility, and cross-device responsiveness before deployment. This Role Is For You If: You have 2–4 years of professional experience with OpenCart development. You have strong PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery skills. You are experienced in building or customizing OpenCart modules and themes. You understand MVC architecture and OpenCart's codebase structure. You have worked with OpenCart v2.x, v3.x, or later. You can work independently and meet deadlines while collaborating with remote teams. Bonus Points If You Have: Experience with OpenCart multi-store or multilingual setups. Familiarity with version control tools like Git. Knowledge of integrations with platforms such as Zoho, Salesforce, or ERP tools. Prior experience working in domains like fashion, automotive, food delivery, or electronics. Skills in mobile optimization, AMP, or headless commerce using OpenCart.
