About The Role What if your instinct for how attacks unfold — the lateral movement, the missed detection, the cascading failure — could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI systems understand cybersecurity? We're looking for experienced offensive and defensive security professionals to analyze real-world attack scenarios, model adversary behavior, and help build the adversarial reasoning data that trains and evaluates cutting-edge AI. This role is about structured threat thinking — not writing exploits. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. If you can map a kill chain, identify where defenses collapse, and explain it clearly, we want to hear from you. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Analyze attack paths, kill chains, and adversary strategies across realistic, production-grade environments Identify weaknesses, misconfigurations, and defensive gaps that real threat actors exploit Review red team scenarios and intrusion narratives for accuracy, depth, and adversarial realism Generate, label, and validate adversarial reasoning data used to train and evaluate AI systems Clearly articulate how attacks unfold, what their impact is, and what tradeoffs defenders face Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments Who You Are 2+ years of hands-on experience in pentesting, red teaming, or a blue-team role with deep attack knowledge You understand how real attacks move through production environments — not just in theory You can trace an attack from initial access to impact and explain every step clearly Strong written communicator — you can break down complex threat scenarios for varied audiences Detail-oriented, systematic, and comfortable working independently without close supervision No exploit development required — this role is about analysis and reasoning, not writing shellcode Nice to Have Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, or similar threat modeling methodologies Experience with cloud environments, Active Directory, or enterprise network architectures Background in threat intelligence, incident response, or detection engineering Prior experience creating or reviewing security training content Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, GWAPT, or equivalent Why Join Us Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside leading AI research labs Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work Apply your hard-earned security expertise to a domain that's actively shaping the future of AI Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
