Job Description: NICET Certified IB-PSC Technician/Designer Job Title: NICET Certified IB-PSC Technician/Designer (Level 2/3) Location: Washington, DC (Remote with occasional on-site visits) Job Type: Full-Time Job Description: TDC is seeking a highly skilled and certified professional to join our Safety and Security team as an In-Building Public Safety Communications (IB-PSC) Technician/Designer . The ideal candidate will possess NICET certifications (Level 3 IB-PSC Technician or dual-certified IB-PSC Design and IB-PSC Technician Level 2) and have extensive experience in public safety communications testing, design, and implementation. This role supports critical projects for a District of Columbia agency, focusing on compliance, testing, and operational excellence in in-building emergency radio systems. Key Responsibilities: Lead and execute in-building public safety system acceptance and annual testing in compliance with standards. Conduct functional and coverage tests, including verifying installation soundness, equipment configuration, and coverage performance. Oversee ERRCS (Emergency Responder Radio Communication Systems) projects, ensuring compliance with regulations. Maintain calibration and performance of testing equipment, including Motorola P25 Phase 2 radios. Collaborate with building owners, system designers, and agency representatives to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain accurate documentation, including baseline measurement data and test results. Provide expertise in troubleshooting and fine-tuning DAS and ERRCS systems to optimize performance. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in public safety communication systems. Train and mentor junior technicians on ERRCS testing processes and standards. Qualifications: Certifications: NICET Level 3 certified IB-PSC Technician; OR NICET dual-certified IB-PSC Design and IB-PSC Technician Level 2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in public safety communications systems testing and design. Proficient in testing and implementing Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). Familiarity with Motorola P25 Phase 2 radios and testing protocols. Skills: Strong understanding of ERRCS systems, functional testing, and coverage analysis. Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with DAS and radio systems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality documentation. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with systems and testing requirements. Experience in project management for public safety communications projects.
