Mission and objectives
MISSION: Empowering men, women, youths and the disadvantaged with the tools necessary to help them improve the quality of their lives. We want the oppressed, the poor and less privileged to live a life of meaning and worth. Key programs of Goodness and Mercy Missions since 2007 are: Women Economic empowerment initiatives, child sponsorship, hassle free education for underprivileged children, computer training and youth livelihood projects.
Context
Goodness and Mercy Missions (GMM) is seeking passionate, strategic, and proactive volunteers to help lay the foundation for a transformative community hub in Fundong, Cameroon. Currently, GMM operates a successful computer training centre in the area, but the demand for holistic community development has outgrown our current infrastructure. We are launching an ambitious initiative to secure land and build a brand-new Multipurpose Centre for Community Development. Located near our existing training center, this land (measuring 25 imes 20 imes 5 meters) is valued at 8 million francs CFA. Our overall fundraising target for this phase is 10 million francs CFA to cover the land acquisition, registration, and initial site preparation. Once constructed, this Multipurpose Centre will serve as a beacon of hope and opportunity, housing: A state-of-the-art Vocational Training Centre to empower local youth and women. A Children’s Centre and Library to foster literacy and early education. A hub for Sports and Youth Engagement. An Environmental & Climate Change Mitigation Platform to groom the next generation of young green Ambassadors. A Guest House for visiting partners and volunteers. Essential community amenities, including a clean-water borehole.
