Job Description: The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative approach toward a common goal of ensuring all eligible loans close on time. This will require effective communication with team members to meet requirements as well as determine solutions to obstacles in a customer’s journey toward homeownership. Job Duties to include but not limited to: Underwrite Conventional, VA, and FHA loans. Underwrite Primary residence, second home, and investment loans on 1-to-4-unit residential properties. Review and validate loan file information including credit, assets, and collateral. Evaluating loan applications for risk and criteria to meet agency and investor requirements. Exercise sound judgment based on detailed analyses and ensure that all loan documentation is in compliance with relevant guidelines. Effectively place and clear conditions to approval in a timely manner, supportive of managing credit risk and on-time closings. Provide communications to internal partners including processors, underwriters, loan officers, funders, post-closing, and production managers regarding file documentation needed and/or file restructuring to meet eligibility guidelines. Review submitted loan approval conditions to determine if they are satisfactory. Make loan qualification decisions and approves, conditionally approves, or rejects mortgage loan applications; provides notification of clear to close. Ensure adherence to any investor overlays. Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years Mortgage Underwriting Experience is required. Excellent Communication Skills Encompass LOS experience is a Must. Proficient with conventional mortgage loans, FHA, VA, USDA, State Bond programs, and renovation loan programs. Detailed and Organized Suitable home internet connection College Degree preferred. Must not appear on the Freddie Mac Exclusionary List or Excluded Parties List (EPLS), be subject to a Limited Denial of Participation (LCP) or otherwise restricted from participating in HUD programs.
