Missionary Care Coordinator Reports to: HarvestCall Executive Director Classification: Part-time, Exempt Location: Remote Position Summary The Missionary Care Coordinator comes alongside HarvestCall missionaries and their families to promote resilience, holistic health, and spiritual vitality throughout the lifecycle of missionary service. This role provides relational, emotional, spiritual, and practical support to missionaries from pre-hire through field service and re-entry. While the Operations Leader (Country Director or Ministry Manager) serves as the primary point of contact for missionaries, the Missionary Care Coordinator maintains a consistent, supportive presence focused on overall wellbeing. The Missionary Care Coordinator works collaboratively with the Country Director, HR, local church leadership, and support teams to ensure missionaries and their families receive comprehensive care, access to appropriate resources, and focused support during transitions, crises, and re-entry. This is a supportive role within the organization, working parallel to leadership and HR processes, including during disciplinary investigations, while prioritizing the personal care and wellbeing of missionaries and their families. Evening and weekend work, as well as some travel, should be expected to support missionaries, events, and ministry needs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Missionary Care & Support Provide ongoing, holistic care for HarvestCall missionaries and their families, addressing personal wellbeing, relational health, spiritual capacity for service, and family support. Offer focused support during key transitions, including pre-field preparation, on-field challenges, crisis situations, and re-entry from service. Walk alongside missionaries during difficult seasons, offering encouragement, guidance, and appropriate referrals to care resources as needed. Support missionaries through disciplinary or investigative processes by providing personal care in coordination with HR and leadership. Coordination & Collaboration Work closely with the Country Director, Ministry Manager, and HR Manager to support missionaries throughout the full lifecycle of service. Engage with local church support teams and leadership to ensure churches are actively involved in missionary care in alignment with ministry agreements. Coordinate access to internal and external care resources, including counseling, coaching, spiritual direction, and financial planning support. Onboarding, Events & Administration Walk alongside missionary candidates during the pre-hire and onboarding process, ensuring readiness for service. Collaborate with leadership and HR to ensure all onboarding requirements are completed. Schedule, coordinate, and support missionary orientations, retreats, re-entry weekends, and other missionary-related events. Maintain appropriate documentation and communication related to Missionary care activities, following organizational policies and confidentiality standards. Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities may be adjusted as organizational needs evolve. Qualifications Church/Spiritual Qualifications Active member in good standing in the Apostolic Christian Church of America, with local elder approval. Commitment to serving the full spectrum of ACCA membership across all congregations. Support the ACCA Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Sexuality. Models a lifestyle and character that reflects Christian values in both personal conduct and professional leadership. Proven track record of exercising sound judgment, discretion, and servant-hearted leadership. Professional Requirements Experience in missionary care, ministry leadership, pastoral care, counseling, or nonprofit support roles preferred. Understanding of missionary life, cross-cultural service, and the unique challenges faced by missionaries and their families. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, mental health principles. Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to work independently while being aligned with team goals. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries while offering relational support. Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills. Ability to provide compassionate, relational, and confidential care to missionaries and their families across diverse cultural contexts. Strong alignment with the mission and values of HarvestCall. Ability to function well in a high-paced, and at times, stressful environment. Meets all legal requirements for employment and authorization to work. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical/Environmental Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. This role involves occasional travel, including overnight stays, regional, national, and international trips, and weekend travel depending on the organization’s needs.
