Website: https://www.mentallyunited.org/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WeAreMentallyUnited About the Role The Mental Health Research & Resource Development Volunteer/Intern will play a key role in expanding Mentally United's collection of psychoeducational materials and mental health resources. Working alongside our leadership team, volunteers will assist in researching mental health topics, reviewing current literature, and developing educational materials designed to increase awareness, improve understanding, and provide practical support for diverse populations. This role combines research, content development, and mental health education, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on experience in mental health advocacy, psychoeducation, and nonprofit program development. Areas of Focus May Include Depression and mood disorders Anxiety and stress-related disorders Suicide prevention and mental health awareness ADHD and executive functioning Autism and neurodiversity Personality disorders Substance use and recovery Trauma and resilience Grief and loss Emotional regulation and coping skills Self-esteem, confidence, and identity development Mental wellness and preventative mental health practices Key Responsibilities Conduct research using reputable, evidence-based, and clinically informed sources Assist in developing psychoeducational resources, toolkits, worksheets, guides, and informational materials Create practical mental health resources such as wellness trackers, coping skills guides, reflection exercises, self-monitoring tools, and educational handouts Support the development and organization of Mentally United's mental health resource database and digital library Review existing resources to ensure accuracy, accessibility, relevance, and alignment with current best practices Assist in identifying emerging topics, resource gaps, and educational opportunities within the mental health space Collaborate with fellow volunteers and leadership team members on resource development projects and educational initiatives Contribute ideas that improve the accessibility and effectiveness of mental health education for diverse audiences Preferred Qualifications Current student, graduate student, or professional in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, Education, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field Strong research, writing, and critical thinking skills Ability to communicate psychological concepts in a clear, accurate, and accessible manner Interest in mental health education, psychoeducation, advocacy, and community impact Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote team environment What You'll Gain Practical experience in mental health research and psychoeducational resource development Exposure to nonprofit operations and mental health advocacy initiatives Opportunities to contribute to resources that directly support individuals and communities Professional mentorship and collaboration opportunities Portfolio-building projects and meaningful impact experience Certificate of Completion and Letter of Recommendation upon successful completion Time Commitment Approximately 8 to 10 hours per week Flexible and fully remote Opportunities available throughout Summer and Fall 2026 Compensation These are volunteer and internship opportunities and are not financially compensated.
