Your impact: You’ll work as a platform engineer, focused on backend services and deployment. The work spans the breadth of our platform: the core community use-cases (feeds, chat, social and moderation features), community intelligence (turning engagement signal into reliable, productized intelligence), and a new agentic platform built into our products You’ll move across backend APIs, infrastructure and deployment, data pipelines, and the AI-assisted engineering systems that let us ship fast without dropping the quality bar. You own things end-to-end, from design through production and operation. Your team: You'll join a team working on the forward edge of the platform — exploratory engineering and architecture, AI-assisted engineering infrastructure, internal tooling, intelligence systems, and the path that takes new capabilities to production-ready. It's a lean team with wide scope and meaningful influence over what gets built. Your day-to-day responsibilities: Build and run backend platform services — APIs, real-time infrastructure, event ingestion, and the workloads behind core community features, intelligence, and AI/agentic capabilities. Own deployment and operations — CI/CD, containerized services, rollout safety, observability, and cost-aware infrastructure. Operational readiness is part of “done,” not cleanup. Design API and event contracts that SDKs, Admin Console, customer systems, and internal tools consume predictably. Bring a product mindset — with the autonomy to help shape what we build and why, turning intelligence and AI/agentic capabilities into products customers use. Work AI-native by default — use AI tools for implementation, debugging, tests, and review; write specs that humans and agents can both execute; improve the system when AI output fails so the same class of mistake recurs less. Your ideal profile: You are a backend/platform engineer who thinks beyond individual tickets. You care about contracts, reliability, observability, supportability, and how other teams consume the systems you build. You are comfortable using AI as part of your engineering workflow, but you still hold the quality bar yourself. Strong, broad software engineering — comfortable across backend, infrastructure, and data, and willing to go wherever the problem is on a lean team. Solid production backend experience: APIs, services, databases, distributed systems, and real operational tradeoffs. Deployment and reliability fluency: CI/CD, containers/Kubernetes, observability, and cost discipline. API and contract thinking — you design for the teams and systems that consume your work. Uses AI as a normal part of engineering and evaluates generated output rigorously — you hold the quality bar yourself. Production ownership instincts: incidents, rollout safety, and post-release accountability. Nice to have B2B SaaS, developer/API platforms, real-time infrastructure, social/community, messaging, moderation, or analytics/customer-data products. Experience building with AI coding agents, structured context, and evidence-based or deterministic validation workflows. Turning recurring production or support failures into automated checks and quality gates.
