Mechanical Engineering Expert — AI Content Specialist About The Role What if your engineering knowledge could shape how the next generation of AI thinks about physics, materials, and machines? At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more technically rigorous AI models — and we need real experts to make it happen. We're looking for Mechanical Engineering specialists to challenge, audit, and refine advanced AI systems across domains like fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and mechatronics. Your expertise will directly influence how AI reasons through complex engineering problems — catching errors that only a trained engineer would spot. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Design Complex Engineering Problems — Craft advanced, domain-specific challenges spanning FEA (Finite Element Analysis), heat transfer, kinematics, material science, and more to rigorously stress-test AI performance. Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Develop precise, step-by-step technical solutions and benchmark responses that serve as the gold standard for AI learning. Audit AI Reasoning — Evaluate AI-generated outputs including CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (ASME, ISO, etc.). Refine Model Thinking — Identify flaws in AI reasoning — such as incorrect force distributions, energy conservation violations, or faulty failure-mode predictions — and provide structured feedback to improve model quality. Who You Are Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field (Master's or PhD, completed or in progress) Deep Domain Knowledge across one or more core areas: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes Strong Analytical Writing Skills — able to communicate complex physical phenomena and technical reasoning clearly and concisely High Attention to Detail — meticulous when reviewing mathematical derivations, unit conversions, and physical system constraints No prior AI experience required — we'll get you up to speed Nice to Have Experience with data annotation, data quality review, or technical evaluation systems Proficiency with engineering software such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS Familiarity with simulation workflows or computational methods Why Join Us Work on some of the most technically demanding AI projects in the industry Fully remote and flexible — set your own schedule, work asynchronously Collaborate with a global network of domain experts and AI researchers Freelance autonomy with meaningful, intellectually stimulating work Potential for ongoing contract extension as projects evolve
