Mechanical Engineering AI Trainer About The Role We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more technically rigorous AI models — and we need mechanical engineers to help make it happen. This is your opportunity to apply deep domain expertise in a high-impact, flexible role that goes far beyond traditional engineering work. You'll stress-test advanced AI systems on complex mechanical engineering problems, author authoritative solutions, and provide the structured technical feedback that shapes how next-generation AI reasons through real-world physics and engineering challenges. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Design Advanced Engineering Problems — Create challenging, domain-spanning problems across FEA, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and material science to probe the limits of AI reasoning. Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as authoritative benchmarks for AI learning and evaluation. Audit Technical Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (e.g., ASME, ISO). Sharpen AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors such as incorrect force distributions, energy conservation violations, or flawed structural assumptions, and provide structured feedback to improve model performance. Work Independently — Manage your own schedule and workload with full flexibility across asynchronous assignments. Who You Are Holds or is pursuing a Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field Strong foundational knowledge in one or more of: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes Able to communicate complex physical phenomena and technical derivations clearly in writing High attention to detail — precise with mathematical derivations, unit analysis, and physical system constraints Self-directed and comfortable working independently on challenging, open-ended tasks No prior AI experience required Nice to Have Experience with data annotation, technical evaluation, or quality assurance workflows Familiarity with engineering software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, or MATLAB Background in reviewing or applying engineering standards and codes Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside top research labs and teams Fully remote and flexible — design your own schedule around your life Freelance autonomy with meaningful, intellectually stimulating work Gain rare, firsthand exposure to how advanced large language models are trained and evaluated Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
