Mechanic 1 The Wheel - St Louis, MO 63103 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Apply Description Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Department: Maintenance Reports To: Maintenance Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary : Responsible for the St. Louis Wheel computer controlled integrated lighting system and general maintenance related to the outdoor areas and attractions. Duties and Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair problems within a computer controlled integrated lighting system Actively work within electrical boxes to check fuses, power supplies, and connections Install lighting components at heights up to 90 feet Troubleshoot lighting issues from a remote computer Troubleshoot other internet connectivity issues Comply with all OSHA and manufacturer safety regulations Identify electrical problems using a variety of electrical devices Communicate with maintenance manager/other team members regarding the status of the lighting system Order, process, and log inventory of lighting components Assist Maintenance Manager with other maintenance tasks and duties related to the Wheel, Carousel, and Mini-Golf Assist in daily safety inspections to ensure safe operations and a positive guest experience Assist in maintaining required inspection and safety records Other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications: 3-5 years experience as an electrician/IT technician Experience in a theme park or attraction setting preferred Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to climb up to a 90’ ladder and work on delicate systems Ability to read blueprints and use multi-meters Extreme attention to detail, manual dexterity and an aptitude for electrical work and electronics. Must be available to work an irregular schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends Ability to work in all weather conditions Education/Experience: High School Diploma required Broad technical training required (3-4 years practical experience). English Language Proficiency Minimum of 3 years mechanical repair and/or facility maintenance Theme Park or Attraction experience preferred Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Has oral and written proficiency of the English language. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
