Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Lawyer at D BOX. The Lawyer will provide legal support on day-to-day matters, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements such as service contracts, NDAs, licensing agreements, and vendor contracts. The role includes advising internal stakeholders on contract risks, intellectual property issues, privacy and data protection considerations, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Lawyer will help develop and maintain contract templates, policies, and playbooks to support efficient operations. Additional responsibilities include conducting legal research, monitoring regulatory changes relevant to the business, managing outside counsel where needed, and ensuring that legal documentation and records are organized and up to date.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney in good standing (or equivalent qualification) with a Juris Doctor (JD) or comparable law degree.
• Experience in commercial, corporate, or technology/media law, including contract drafting and negotiation.
• Strong skills in legal research, analysis, and clear written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with intellectual property, licensing, privacy, and data protection principles is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple matters, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Comfort collaborating with non-legal stakeholders and explaining legal concepts in practical, business-focused terms.
• Prior in-house experience or experience advising creative, technology, or media organizations is a plus.
• High ethical standards, sound judgment, and commitment to inclusion, fairness, and non-discriminatory practices.
