About the role The Junior Quality Control Officer will be responsible for supporting premix testing, conducting analytical experiments, maintaining quality documentation and data records, and coordinating with external testing laboratories. The role will contribute to the timely execution of quality control activities, accurate reporting of results, adherence to established quality standards and procedures, the development of SOPs, and supporting the team to make the process and systems more effective. Therefore, the work the Junior Quality Control Officer does is key to our ability to provide our beneficiaries with a high-quality product that meets all safety standards. They will work closely with other teams across Fortify Health and manage communications with external laboratory partners. The Junior Quality Control Officer will report to Fortify Health’s Quality Control Officer. Key Responsibilities 1. Quality Testing and Control Performing rapid quantitative iron testing in fortified wheat flour (using iCheck Iron, no prior experience of using iCheck Iron required) for all partner mills. Support quality control activities for fortification premix and assist in analytical experiments and testing. Support vendor quality audits and follow up on corrective actions. 2. Documentation, Data Analysis, and Reporting Maintain quality control records, testing documentation, and related reports. Analyse testing data, interpret results, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders. Prepare internal testing reports and support effective data management practices. 3. Laboratory Coordination and Continuous Improvement Coordinate with external laboratories for sample testing, report management, and result tracking. Support the development and implementation of SOPs and quality processes. Participate in training, research activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Fluency in Hindi, professional fluency in English. Expertise: Candidates with a background in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Food Science and Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, B.Pharm, or M.Pharm will be preferred. Execution: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to oversee the quality control process from mill to lab. Excellent attention to both detail and results. Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and strong organisational skills to manage testing workflows, documentation, sample tracking, and reporting timelines. Collaboration: Proven ability to maintain professional interpersonal relationships and work as part of a team. Communication: Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to relay important quality control findings in an accessible way. Problem-solving: Ability to efficiently learn and execute best practices to solve common quality problems.
